The Cutting Edge

After circling around for what felt like 30 minutes, we finally found the Cutting Edge. Due to being in the city, there is not a whole lot this attraction can do to increase the outside scare factor. They have put up a few props here and there, including a gigantic skull facade that you must walk through to enter the attraction. We waited in line for roughly 20 minutes, and took notice to how well the administration made sure the groups were separated.

Upon entrance, we were immediately greeted by pure darkness. I’m talking about that sticky, can’t see your hand in front of your face darkness. While walking through a darkmaze, we finally came across a room filled with skeletons. In my opinion, this room is a bit of an homage to “Army of Darkness”, one of the greater classic humor/horror flicks of all time. There is a huge scare in this room, and I refuse to tell you what it is. All I can say is to be prepared to jump the highest you ever have in your life.

The haunt flows pretty fluidly, hardly ever skipping a beat. One of the things that adds so much to this attraction is the music. It is a creepy techno for the most part, but it really keeps you moving along. This haunted attraction is mostly made by its talented actors. I know that you may be sitting there asking, ‘how hard is it to jump out and yell at people?’ Well, these guys and girls do much more than that. They are very obviously pros at scaring others, and without them, I think this attraction would be a complete failure.

After going through about 45 minutes of the attraction, you come to a break called The Pit. You are given a glowstick, and released into a dark maze to try and told to find the exit. If you do make it out, you are entered into a drawing to win a trip. Needless to say, none of us made it out before the time ran out.

After The Pit, there is still plenty of haunted house left, and it closes with a huge hallway filled with soap suds. You are given the option to not go through this part, but I recommend you brave it out. It’s a cool experience.

This is the exact opposite of a place like Thrillvania. While there is some attention to detail here, it is all about the jump out and loud scare. Members on my review team loved this place however, and said it was the scariest one they have ever been to. I agree that for almost the whole 90 minutes in the attraction I was on complete edge. I strongly recommend this attraction. If you want to really be scared, go here. This place has a great combination of incredible effects and jump out of your skin scares.
